Charles Lambert
Charles Lambert was born in Nauvoo, Illinois in 1845. He came to Salt lake when he was 2yrs old.
He was a talented man and always a hard worker. He worked a the Sugarhouse paper-mill on 21st So and was part of a small team that found a perfect location for the New Paper Mill in the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon in 1879.
He traveled back east to learn the latest techniques and find the best equipment. Charles became the plant Superintendent and helped his crew take quaking aspen trees and rags and make paper pulp.
Charles retired in 1888 and bought 40 acres in Granger. Charles was the father of ten children

In 1893 the paper mill caught fire.
The Old Mill housed many different ventures. Here is a 1927 advertisement for the Old Mill Club.
The Mill housed a Club, Dance Hall, Disco, a Haunted House and a Boutique
In 1894 a news article talks about how haunted the Old Mill was
Many say the site has been haunted by the ghosts of 2 men that died in the two fires along with a dog.
Some have heard talking, doors slam and the dog bark.
