Upholstery, Community, & Family: Honoring Carl Fuller’s 103 Years of Devotion
A Life of Craftsmanship, Faith, and Devotion: The Legacy of Carl Brockbank Fuller
Carl B. Fuller was the heart behind Granger Upholstery, a small business known for its custom-built living room furniture and top-notch craftsmanship at 2055 West 3500 South. But Carl’s legacy extends far beyond upholstery—he was a man of honor, hard work, and unwavering community service.
Born December 17, 1920 in Snowville, Utah, Carl grew up in Cache Valley, where he excelled in school, played basketball, and served as senior class president. With the onset of World War II, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served in the Pacific Theater. As a military cook, he became known for his ability to prepare meals in large quantities—skills that would serve him well throughout life.
After the war, Carl married his childhood sweetheart, Edyth Ruth Larkin, and the couple moved to Twin Falls, Idaho, where he began training as an upholsterer. Eventually, they settled in Granger, Utah, where Carl found work with Imperial Upholstery before opening his own shop, Granger Upholstery. For 25 years, Carl's expert work and dependable service helped furnish homes across the West Valley area: 2055 W 3500 S
Carl and Edyth built their forever home in Granger, where Carl lived until his passing. His dedication to community continued through decades of service in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints—as a Bishop, High Councilman, and temple worker. Together, he and Edyth served a full-time mission in Georgia and remained devoted to service throughout their lives.
In retirement, Carl cultivated a lush and vibrant garden, transforming his yard into a joyful place full of color and life. He was known for his cheerfulness, resilience, and deep love for family and neighbors.
Carl celebrated his 103rd birthday in December 2023 and passed away shortly after, on January 4, 2024. His life stands as a shining example of dedication—to his family, faith, country, craft, and community. Granger will not forget his many contributions.
