Golden Manor: A Trailblazer in Granger Healthcare Since 1964
Golden Manor is now called Hunter Hollow Care Center
In 1964, the Granger community welcomed the opening of Golden Manor at 4155 W. 3500 South—a state-of-the-art skilled nursing and rehabilitation center that offered more than care... it offered comfort, dignity, and community.
Ahead of Its Time
Built at a cost of $500,000, the ultra-modern facility was called one of the most unique in the Intermountain West.
Featured fire-retardant construction, air-conditioned rooms, and state-of-the-art safety systems exceeding state and federal standards.
Located near a general hospital and medical centers—perfectly placed for accessibility and community need.
Compassionate, Professional Care
Under the direction of Mrs. Vonna L. Davies, L.P.N., the center launched with 32 employees including:
24-hour RNs
Licensed physical therapists
Occupational therapists providing arts & crafts rehabilitation programs.
Designed to treat a range of needs including:
Convalescent and post-operative care
Geriatric, orthopedic, paralytic, and special-diet patients
A Home-Like, Healing Environment
Private, double, and multi-occupancy rooms—each with hospital-grade adjustable beds.
Beautiful recreation lounges, indoor courtyard gardens, and a dining room filled with natural light.
A landscaped patio with umbrellas created what staff proudly called a “country club” atmosphere to promote emotional well-being and recovery.
Balanced meals served in-room or in the airy dining hall—carefully prepared in a modern kitchen.
A Lasting Legacy
Now operating as Hunter Hollow Care Center, this facility has evolved but remains deeply rooted in its original mission:
To provide affordable, professional, and personal care in a place that feels like home. Its opening in 1964 filled a long-anticipated gap in local healthcare—and today, its legacy of compassion and excellence continues.
