7064 W 3500 S: Over a Century of West Valley History
The Brown Home, constructed in the 1880s, stood as a proud reminder of Hunter's pioneer roots for well over a century. At 7064 West 3500 South, Lewis and Lucille Brown raised their family in a home that reflected the values they lived by—hard work, kindness, and service to others. Generations of Browns called this homestead home, and its location, just a short distance from the Taylorsville Stake Welfare Farm where Lewis worked, connected the family to the agricultural heritage that helped define the Hunter community. Although the historic house was demolished in the 1990s, its story did not end there. Around 2014, the property became part of the Thomasville Manor subdivision, developed by Reliance Homes at approximately 7050 West 3500 South. Today, new homes stand where the old pioneer homestead once stood, but the legacy of the Brown family—and the generations who lived, worked, and served from this remarkable place—remains an enduring part of West Valley City's history.
