Carrying On the Dream: Michael Hardman and the Legacy of Research Homes
Michael Hardman (1954–2010)
Michael Hardman was born to Verner and Virginia Hardman and grew up in Granger, Utah, where he graduated from Granger High School in 1971. He went on to study Building Construction at Utah Technical College, graduating in 1974. That same year he married Theresa Bittle, and in 1976 their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Together they raised four children.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Michael became a talented and award-winning homebuilder, continuing the legacy of Research Homes, the company established by his father, Vern Hardman, and architect Ron Molen. His craftsmanship and dedication were evident in the many beautiful homes he built throughout Utah, including in southern Utah and St. George.
Michael was known not only for his skill as a builder but for his devotion as a family man. His greatest joy came from time spent with his children and grandchildren, who were the light of his life. He also found happiness and freedom riding his Harley on the open road. Loved deeply by his family and friends, Michael will always be remembered for his warmth, humor, and the strong legacy he left in both family and community.
