Adobe and Brick: The Eldredge Family Home
The Eldredge Home – A Century-Old Landmark
Located at 4410 South 3600 West, the Eldredge home stands as one of Granger’s enduring historic residences. Owned by Mrs. Fred Eldredge and her sister, the house reflects both pioneer craftsmanship and the steady growth of the community in the early 20th century.
The red-brick exterior conceals adobe-lined walls, a reminder of traditional building practices. With its saltbox shape, shingled gables, and return cornices on the north and south sides, the home embodies a style both practical and elegant for its time.
Constructed in three phases between 1902 and 1915, the house has been carefully preserved and remains in excellent condition today. More than just a residence, it is a testament to the families who built and cared for it—linking present-day West Valley City to its pioneer roots.
