From Hardware to Hot Meals to High-Pressure Washes: 2055 W 3500 S

Few addresses in Granger and West Valley have seen as much change as 2055 West 3500 South. In the late 1940s, it was home to Raymond Runnells’ Granger Hardware and Appliance, the first hardware store in the area and a true community hub. In the late 1950’s the building transformed into a beloved local eatery—first as Benny Chan Ming’s Restaurant, then the well-known Kawloon Restaurant, which served generations of families. 2024 the site has taken on yet another identity as Mr. Car Wash, a reminder that while businesses change, each era leaves behind its own layer of history in the story of West Valley City.
