Iris & Mable....two amazing people

The Morgan Family

Iris B. Morgan (1900–1988) and Mable Gerrard Morgan (1904–1979)

Iris B. Morgan was born in Salt Lake City and devoted his life to faith, family, and community. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Mexico from 1922 to 1924 and later filled a labor mission in Hawaii during the construction of the Church College of Hawaii (now BYU–Hawaii). Professionally, he was a respected plumber and building contractor who contributed to the growing communities of the Salt Lake Valley.

Iris served faithfully in numerous church callings, including bishop, stake president, and patriarch, and was known for his kindness, wisdom, and generosity. He and his wife, Mable Gerrard Morgan, were married on September 6, 1928, in the Salt Lake Temple and raised a large and loving family. Together, they served a building mission in Hawaii and remained dedicated to church and community service throughout their lives.

Mable Gerrard Morgan was born February 16, 1904, in Taylorsville, Utah, to Samuel and Elizabeth Brown Frame Gerrard—descendants of early settlers in the area. She was known for her gentle nature, quiet strength, and unwavering faith. Mable passed away on February 1, 1979, at the age of 74. Iris followed in 1988, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and service that continues through their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren
